What kind of entries are available to you?

You choose which category of the directory to be in - and you can have different ads in more than one category if appropriate. For examples, see below.......

1. The FREE entry gives you one line of text about your business, like this:-

Tell customers where you are (e.g. opposite Marks and Spencers).
Describe what you do.
Highlight your speciality - for instance main car dealers can say which manufacturer they sell for. Greengrocers selling exotic fruits. Clothing shops specialising in jeans.
Extended or unusual opening times.
Payment methods you accept
Extra services such as delivery, fitting, hire purchase.

NOTE: Each business can have ONE FREE entry only, provided they are based in Berkshire. The following ads must all be paid for:-

additional entries in more than one category
separate entries for multiple branches or subsidiaries of the same organisation
businesses not based in (or with a branch in) Berkshire, or the postcode areas of Berkshire

and cost £12 for a single-line entry. Please contact us if in doubt. A link to your web site (if any) is included, free of charge, in all entries.

2. Extra text You can have a second line of text for just £12 a year to boost your impact on the customers.

3. Box Entries The most effective way to attract new customers is the Box Entry. Why not take out a Box Entry like this, at extremely competitive rates.

All entries of 3 lines or more (plus the address line) automatically show in a box entry.

You can have any, or all, of the following to catch the eye of potential customers:-

optional contact details (fax number, and/or a link to your website)	included

several lines of text	£0 for first line of first ad £12 each subsequent line
coloured border	£20 per advertisement

All prices are for an advertisement for one year, payable in advance. However please note our current advantageous pricing system - advertise now, and your ad will be renewed at the same price each year for as long as you keep it on the system and your business is trading, regardless of how our prices for new advertising rise in the future! Our way of thanking you for your custom.

To place your advertisement in the directory

1. Have a look above to see the styles of directory entry available.

2. Now click on the button below.

3. The system will then let you type in the details of your entry. It will ask you for:-

the address and phone number of your shop or office
which category(ies) you want to advertise in
and the text you want displayed (for the free entry leave that bit blank).

4. And that's it! If you are taking out a paid advertisement, payment is by cheque - no need to give your credit card details over the internet. As soon as we receive your payment (or for free entries, usually within 3 days of placement) we will publish your entry in the live directory, unless we have any query. The system will give you an account number. Just ensure the name of your business, and this account number, are written on the back of the cheque so we can be certain of identifying who it is from. Nothing could be easier!

Amendments - You can amend all details (business name, address and the displayed text) at any time, without charge if the new entry is of the same size as the old one.

Our Straight-forward Assurance:

Payment is due before publication. Most entries will go straight through to publication as we receive them. However, if we have any query (for instance if we spot an apparent mistake, or the content of an entry does not comply with our Conditions), we will contact you and resolve the query before presenting your cheque.
In the unlikely event that a query cannot be resolved to the satisfaction of both parties, or if we cannot accept an entry for any reason, we will return your cheque immediately without further obligation. (Of course, if you are in any doubt to begin with about the content of your ad, please contact us beforehand with your query.)
In the event of any delay (by either party) the period of an advertisement will always count from the date of actual publication to ensure you get the full period.
We operate a 1 month guarantee - if you are not happy with your entry and wish to cancel it within one month of publication, we will refund your money without question.

A directory entry may not contain any material that is illegal, defamatory, pornographic, or likely to cause offence in some other way. In this connection, we consider that children may use the directory and will consider entries accordingly.

We do not accept businesses dealing primarily in the following (but this list is not exhaustive - if in doubt contact us first from the Contact Us page):- gambling, pornography, armaments, tobacco, and political or religious organisations.

In order to preserve the look of the directory we do not show ads with the company name, or the text, written entirely in block capitals (except where a company name consists of initials and is normally shown in capitals, e.g. the RAC). We will automatically edit such ads to lower case without reference to the advertiser. Also addresses are normally shown as specified by the Post Office according to postcode, which may differ slightly from the form the advertiser entered them.

This site is optimised for display using the Internet Explorer web browser, version 4 or later. Current statistics show this accounts for approximately 95% of all Internet users, so almost everyone will see it correctly. Users of other browsers are not guaranteed to see it properly, though most should have little problem.
